Kipling is
based on an agricultural economy of grain, livestock and mixed farms as well as
an ever-increasingly strong oil exploration and service sector. The livestock
industry boasts the addition of several large hog operations in the last few
years. Kipling has increasingly become the centre for health care in this area.
We are located just one and one half hours drive from the cities of Yorkton,
Regina, Estevan and Weyburn. Four Rural Municipalities including the RM's of
Hazelwood, Kingsley, Golden West and Chester border the town.
Depending on
your age and inclination, Kipling offers many opportunities to sit back and
relax or participate and get active.
In the winter, there are monthly dances hosted by the Winter Dance Club. The
Kipling Community Centre provides an excellent facility for dances, meetings,
and plays. The Friendship Centre provides an opportunity for billiards,
shuffleboard and card parties. The people have been avid participants in
fraternal and service clubs such as Lions, Legion and many other local
organizations and church groups.
